IIITB is at the forefront of higher education in India. Our involvement with international universities such as National Science Foundation, USA (NSF), European Union (EU), Netherlands Organisation for Scientific Research, Netherlands (NWO), Research Councils UK (RCUK) and the World Bank ensure that students can experience education like no other, along with getting a chance to visit international universities and work on research projects.

Objectives:

To become a globally recognised institution of higher learning in Information Technology, particularly at the Masters and Doctoral levels, thereby helping students embark on an exploratory journey where they immerse themselves in a world of IT-related knowledge. Moreover, be close to our communities and help them understand how technology gets used for social change. Subsequently, have an active role in creating knowledge that will advance the state of the art of IT, thus fostering students as global citizens and teaching them about value-based education. Also, create value by nurturing and encouraging entrepreneurship and help in building capabilities in emerging Information Technologies and opening up new vistas in IT education and research.

There is one thing that remains constant at IIITB; knowledge. We value the pursuit of knowledge and strive to find new ways to teach students in a just and equitable manner. We believe in freedom of thought and originality and uphold human values, ethics, and integrity in all that we do.

The International Institute of Information Technology Bangalore (IIITB) was established in 1998. We are a deemed-to-be autonomous institute ranked Indias No. 1 private technical university*, and there has been a constant effort to contribute qualitatively to the IT world through education, research, entrepreneurship and innovation.

Since its founding, we have remarkably pushed the boundaries of technology education by graduating over 3,500 students working in over 100 industry-leading IT companies. The institute alums have also founded more than 50 different enterprises. In addition, we follow a broad academic philosophy with three tiers: programme, course and teaching.

IIITB attracts students from all over India and abroad and selects 100% students on merit from across the country and overseas, boosting the level of discourse and peer groups at the institute. Moreover, we have a unique positioning as a leading technology institute with its interdisciplinary courses, crossing information technology and social sciences that students from diverse academic backgrounds study. In fact, our MSc Digital Society course is the first of its kind in India.

IIITB has been ranked 76th in the Engineering category in the country in the National Institutional Ranking Framework 2021 by the Ministry of Human Resources Development, Government of India.
